Start a Project

A Project is one game: its code and its assets. A person with access to a Project is a Member of it. Everything on this page happens on the Dashboard, at https://app.shell-engine.com.

  1. Open https://app.shell-engine.com.
  2. Click Sign in with Google, and choose the Google account of the address you were invited by.

Projects are by invitation, and there is no sign-up. An address that was not invited is told so and is let no further. To get in, ask a Member of a Project to invite you.

The Dashboard opens on the question What do you want to make?

  1. Describe the game in the text field, in your own words. This is the first thing the Agent is asked.
  2. Give it a name under Its name, or leave that empty.
  3. Choose The Agent’s model: Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, or Haiku 4.5. Opus 5.5 is chosen unless you choose another.
  4. Click Make it.

The browser goes on to the new Project’s editor, where the Agent has begun: the Thread on the right shows what it does.

To start with nothing, give a name and leave the description empty. The Project then starts as one scene with one camera in it, and the Agent waits to be asked. Your first scene goes on from there.

Under Your Projects, each Project you are a Member of is a card.

On the cardWhat it tells
Running or StoppedWhether the Project’s machine runs now
An addressThe Project’s own address, such as crate-game.shll.games
Changed 3 hours agoWhen the Project last changed
$0.79 of $25.00 this monthWhat the Agent has cost this month, of what the Project may spend. See The Agent
OpenTo the editor
PlayTo the game alone, with no editor around it
PeopleWho is in the Project, and who was invited. See Working together

A Project stops by itself about 15 minutes after the last Member closed its editor, when the Agent is not working. Nothing is lost by that.

Open starts it again. You see The Project is starting for some seconds; the page asks again by itself, and then the editor is there with the Project as it was left.

The Member who made a Project is its Owner. Only the Owner sees these two, under People and settings on the card.

  • Rename: type another name and click Rename. The Project’s address stays the one it was.
  • Delete this Project: type the Project’s name and click Delete. That takes the Project away from everyone in it: its editor, its game, and its files. Its repository on GitHub stays.

Sign out is at the top of the Dashboard, beside your name.
